Approach to Care
Dr. Lindsay’s approach to client care is empathic, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique goals and needs. She is committed to creating a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental therapeutic space where clients feel understood and comfortable exploring difficult emotions, thoughts, and life experiences at their own pace.
Dr. Lindsay recognizes that emotional distress, cognitive changes, and difficult life circumstances and experiences can deeply affect how a person functions, relates to others, understands themselves, and experiences their overall quality of life. Her approach to treatment is grounded in evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Through this work, Dr. Lindsay helps clients cultivate the ability to respond to difficult thoughts, emotions, and life circumstances with openness, self-awareness, and intention, even in the context of stress, uncertainty, or emotional pain. A central part of Dr. Lindsay’s work involves helping clients identify and clarify their values. Together, therapy focuses on building skills and cultivating greater flexibility so that clients can move toward a life that feels fuller, more connected, and more aligned with the person they want to be.
As a Clinical Neuropsychologist, Dr. Lindsay is also uniquely positioned to support individuals experiencing cognitive difficulties related to psychological, neurological, or medical conditions.
