Connect and Thrive Psychology provides individual therapy and couples counselling to adults living in Ontario, and under exceptional circumstances, to persons travelling or residing out of province (where permitted). All services are provided virtually at this time.

Our Approach
People go in and out of periods of mental health and illness over the course of their lives. At Connect and Thrive Psychology, we work with clients and couples interested in improving their psychological, emotional, and interpersonal well-being at all points along the mental health continuum. We support our clients when they need to heal from adversity, trauma, and illness; and when they are looking to learn, grow and thrive. We do so by building strong working relationships with our clients and applying evidence-based treatment strategies to assist them in reaching their goals.
The Therapeutic Relationship
A client’s experience of therapy is dependent on several variables. These include personality factors, a person’s readiness for change and the client-therapist “fit.”
Therapists at our practice are especially attuned to this “fit.” We believe that a healthy relationship with a qualified care provider affords clients the safety and courage that is needed to talk about deep pain, to consider different perspectives, to approach obstacles in new and innovative ways, and to take risks that go beyond the person’s comfort zone. If you choose to become a client at our practice, rest assured that your therapist will invest in building and strengthening your relationship, so that you can heal, grow, and ultimately navigate the world with greater ease and mastery.
We encourage clients to request a consultation call ahead of a first session to assess their comfort with a therapist. If you have any questions or concerns about your “fit” with your therapist, please to let us know. We will work with you to address any anxieties you may have, or to connect you with another provider if you prefer. It is important to us that you feel partnered in your efforts to reach your goals.
Treatments That Work
Each of our clinicians has received training and supervision in evidence-based approaches to therapy and has extensive experience adopting these approaches in clinical practice. Once your therapist understands your goals and concerns, they will talk to you about which approaches to therapy may be best suited to you and your needs. Alternatively, your therapist may recommend you integrate more than one approach to allow for a more tailored therapy experience.
